Local Boats That Bring Food Items From Yenogoa Have Been Barred From Entering The Community -According to Ofongo

A Citizen Of The Igbomotoru Village, Love Joshua Ofongo has said that it is now illegal for the local boats that bring food from Yenogoa to enter the neighborhood. She voiced her worries about the lack of food, noting that store owners had left the neighborhood because of safety concerns.

She spoke up about her vulnerable state, saying that she hadn’t eaten since the morning because there weren’t any food supplies. Many residents of Igbomotoru have fled into the bush out of fear as a result of the military action.

She said in an interview with Arise TV, You won’t see men in the community except women. There is food scarcity and shop owners have fled the area. Local boats that bring food items from Yenogoa have been barred from entering the community. As I speak right now, I have not eaten since morning, not even a cup of garri. We are really hungry.”

Meanwhile, the President of the Ijaw National Congress, Professor Benjamin Okaba had lamented the plight of the people of Igbomotoru. He claimed that the people are being punished over a crime that they did not commit. He pleaded that the military should be professional and go after the perpetrators.

The Military on the other hand has demanded that community leaders should provide intelligence that will help them apprehend the culprits. According to the report by the Daily Post, some Traditional rulers in Delta state have promised to assist the security agencies in smoking out the killers of the 17 soldiers in Okuama community. The Royal Fathers also appealed to the state government to set up an investigative panel that would examine the remote and immediate cause of the incident.
