Onokpasa ‘A Lot Of APC Members Are Uncomfortable With Wike’s Antics, That Is Just The Bitter Truth’

According to lawyer and APC publicity committee member Jesutega Onokpasa, some APC members are uncomfortable with what the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has been doing lately. He said the President had made efforts to facilitate a settlement between opposing sides, only to learn of later events like defections and allegations of impeachment. He made the observation that the situation’s negative optics create a sense of discomfort.

He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”Our party is not involved in whatever is going on in Rivers state. Certainly, our President has no hand in it. A lot of APC members are uncomfortable with Wike’s antics, that is just the bitter truth. Our President called you, called Governor Fubara, and tried to achieve a settlement between the two parties. And then the next thing we hear is that some people are decamping and there are moves to impeach the governor. And then we woke up one morning and then a budget is presented and some seats are declared vacant. These are really bad optics. And I personally am uncomfortable with it.”
