The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) on Thursday is set to commission the Budo-Osho substation project, putting an end to several years of erratic power supply being experienced by residents of Tanke, Basin and other affected areas of Ilorin metropolis of Kwara state.

The company’s head of corporate service, Angela Olanrewaju in a statement said the commissioning will take place at the site of the injection station along Judges Quarters in Ilorin.

Olarenwaju noted that the move is part of the IBEDC’s ongoing efforts to enhance the power supply infrastructure in service areas which will play a pivotal role in ensuring stable power supply to the following communities: Budo-Esho, F Division, Tanke, Bubu, Oke-Odo, and Basin .

It will be recalled that the affected areas have been battling incessant power supply over the years owing to delays in the completion of the substation injection projects. Many letters had been written to IBEDC and relevant government agencies to ensure completion of the projects.
