According to report, few days after responding to those who mocked and criticized him, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has revealed the key to his health and success in his ministry.
During the monthly Thanksgiving service at the church’s national headquarters in Lagos, Pastor Adeboye, who is 82 years old, shared with the congregation that he maintains a strong connection with God through fasting, prayer, obedience to God’s commands, and living a holy lifestyle. These practices have contributed to his good health.
While recounting his story, Adeboye expressed that as long as one remains connected to the divine power, the enemy cannot harm them. He emphasized that staying connected to the Almighty will result in a youthful appearance and increased strength.
Adeboye shared an incident where a friend questioned how he manages to maintain his energy and agility at his age. He responded by stating that if he reveals the secret, would his friend believe him? The key, he explained, is to stay connected to the tireless, ageless, ever-present God who never sleeps or slumbers. By remaining connected to Him, His power will flow through and continually renew one’s strength.
He went on to share another experience where he traveled to a different country and decided to go for a morning walk. Two of his companions initially joined him but eventually fell behind. When he returned, he found them on the way and asked why they couldn’t keep up. They replied that they didn’t realize he was going that far. Adeboye used this incident to illustrate that those who wait upon the Lord will have their strength renewed.
He emphasized that strength encompasses not only physical but also mental, spiritual, and emotional aspects.
Adeboye also mentioned sharing a past event from 1951 with someone who questioned how he remembered such details. In response, he reiterated that those who wait upon the Lord will have their strength renewed. The key is to remain connected to the source of God’s power.
Adeboye mentioned that scientists have conducted research and concluded that fasting has the ability to rejuvenate one’s age and make them appear younger.
“Scientists have discovered that you can renew your age by fasting, it has a very great advantage to make you look younger after the fast. Researchers conducted an experiment years ago, they caught two set of mice, separate them. Give one set food once in two day and feed the other one very well. I can’t remember for how many months they did that but they injected rat poison into both sets of rat, before evening all the rats that were feed fat had died. Seven days later, the only sign they saw on the rats that have been fasting was that there was yellow colour on their tail. When you hear people protesting that I asked you to fast regularly, just smile, it looks as if this old man knew what he is doing.”
