Shehu Sani Responds After Soludo Said He Has Not Been Receiving Salaries From Anambra State Government

Shehu Sani, the former senator for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, responded to Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, who recently said that he hasn’t gotten a salary since taking office two years ago.

Speaking at an interdenominational service on Sunday to commemorate his second year in office, Soludo had stated that his wife, the state’s first lady, does not drive an official car and that he has not been receiving a salary from the Anambra State Government as part of his efforts to reduce the cost of governance.

According to the report by Daily Post, he had said, “I can tell you that I’m not getting salaries from the Anambra State Government. My wife, the first lady, does not have any official cars, she still drives my cars. We are cutting wastes, and plugging loopholes.”

In addition to that, the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor said that the resources available to the state now are lesser than what they used to be, but they are trying to manage the little they have.

He added that Anambra has not seen anything yet, and that he would ensure that every kobo of Anambra State’s money is properly used.

Reacting to the statement from Governor Soludo, Shehu Sani said that he wonders how Soludo has been coping since he said that he had not been receiving salaries.

In the statement he made on X, formerly known as Twitter, he said, “I read that Soludo and wife have not received any salary for two years. Only God knows how they are managing their lives.”
