The Army Troops That Came, They Know Where The Person They Wanted Was And Went There- According to Ofongo

The Paramount Ruler of the Igbomotoru communities in Bayelsa State, HRH Ayibaikie Aseimighen Ofongo, has commended the military operations occurring there.

Sources claim that the Nigerian Army invaded Igbomotoru in an effort to locate the alleged militant leader who gave the order to kill the 17 soldiers in Okuama town, which is located in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Ofongo claimed that the military arrived because they had heard that the culprit responsible for the soldiers’ deaths was holed up in Igbomotoru, according to the Daily Trust story published on Sunday.

Speaking to reporters in the Bayelsa capital of Yenogoa, the monarch claimed that when the troops arrived, a few young men from the wanted suspect’s gang approached them. The army then opened fire, killing a few of the gang members.

He said, “The army troops that came, they know where the person they wanted was and they went there, and some miscreants who are members of the militant gang came out and wanted to know what was happening in their usual militant way, and there was opening of fire from the Army, and some of them were killed. So, it was only members of the militant gang that were killed, not the natives.”

The king claimed that the terrorist group’s actions have been the cause of some internal security problems in Igbomotoru for a while. He claimed that he had to leave the group because his own life was under danger. He disclosed that he hadn’t visited his village in roughly three years and had only gone there after learning of his relatives’ passing.

In order to stop the terrorists’ illegal actions, Ofongo urged the military to form a military unit in the Igbomotoru village.
