The Riverine Areas Now Have A Governor & In A Matter Of Months, Wike Wants To Impeach Him -According to Onokpasa

Attorney and APC Publicity Committee member Jesutega Onokpasa has outlined the historical background of how the Upland areas ruled Rivers State for 24 years under the leadership of Rotimi Amaechi and Peter Odili, then Minister Wike. He emphasized that Siminalayi Fubara is the current governor of the Riverine territories, and that Wike’s decision to impeach him quickly will undoubtedly lead to a problem in the state. He denied that the President is in favor of Wike in this situation and questioned the idea that Wike may fire Governor Fubara. He claims that Wike is causing early distractions for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”We have a state in which what is generally referred to as the Upland areas have held sway in the state for 24 years. There was Peter Odili, he did 8 years. There was Rotimi Amaechi, he did 8 years. Then came Minister Wike who did 8 years. All that time, the people in Riverine areas, they put up with it. The Riverine areas now have a governor and in a matter of months, Wike wants to impeach him.

Let’s tell ourselves the truth, who’s going to tolerate that? Nobody will tolerate it, you will certainly have a problem in that state. And Wike is giving the impression that he can just sack Fubara. And this notion that Wike supporters are putting out there that the President is on his side and that the President is going to declare a state of emergency in Rivers state. Please stop that nonsense, our President is not on Wike’s side in this matter at all.”
