You would have seen that Obi was very wise enough not to have been present— According to Sambo

In an interview with Arise Television, Arise Politics Editor Sumner Sambo said that Peter Gregory Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for 2023, made a smart choice by declining to attend the party’s convention, which was held in Anambra State.

In the interview, Sambo stated, “You would have seen that he was extremely savvy enough not to have been present, and it will also assist Nigerians to realize the democratic redemption of Peter Obi as a person since there is a rift inside his political party. I can tell you that was a really wise strategic move in terms of politics.

He added that “though the governor of Abia State, who happened to be the only governor that the Labour Party has, wasn’t there, of course the deputy governor, other elected officials, and the entire state cabinet were there. I wonder why the governor wasn’t there if all the state officials were there.

“The National Assembly delegation of the Labour Party was absent; only one from Anambra State was there.

Regarding the convention, he added, “You would have seen that before this purported convention that was called that later led into what we have seen today, there was a huge crisis, and the house caucus of the Labour Party had said that this convention should not go ahead because they believed that if they were to have a convention based on INEC’s guidelines and what usually happens, normally, it will start from the ward Congress to the local government Congress to the state Congresses, and eventually that will birth a National Working Committee at the highest level.
