Your Law Degree Is Useless – Atiku Abubakar Mocks Keyamo

After Festus Keyamo lost his case at the Federal High Court in Abuja, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar made fun of the former minister of state for labour and employment’s law degree on Monday.

When Atiku served as Olusegun Obasanjo as vice president of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007, Keyamo charged him with using “Special Purpose Vehicles” (SPVs) to dishonestly enrich himself.

When he filed his lawsuit, he purportedly referenced an affidavit that Michael Achimugu, Atiku’s former media assistant, allegedly deposed against his former employer.

The former Minister asked the court to order the nation’s anti-corruption organisations to look into Atiku’s alleged corrupt practises.

On the other hand, the court dismissed Keyamo’s case on Monday.

The court ruled that the lawsuit lacked merit in a decision read by Justice James Omotosho.

Atiku’s spokesperson, Shaibu, said in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday that Keyamo hurriedly filed a lawsuit before the court seeking an order to mandate the agencies to act on his petition even though he was eager “to satisfy his paymasters” and did not wait for the EFCC and other agencies to act on his petition for up to three days.

Shaibu claimed that the verdict was unequivocal proof that the former minister was merely engaging in cynical politics.

“Justice Omotosho has confirmed Keyamo’s incompetence,” he claimed. One is left to wonder how he attained the position of senior advocate. Despite several explanations that the accusations made against Atiku were false, Keyamo would not accept them.

Shaibu continued, “Instead of acting like the sophisticated lawyer that one would expect of a senior advocate, he chose to act like a political jobber. He is now embarrassed in front of everyone. This man was a subordinate of the illustrious Chief Gani Fwehinmi, right? What a loss.

According to him, Keyamo’s most recent loss was not unexpected “given the fact that he had lost many high profile cases in court while he was an EFCC prosecutor.”

Shaibu continued, “We told Nigerians that the jobless ex minister would lose when he filed the ridiculous action. The forecast was consistent with his prior experience as an unsuccessful EFCC prosecutor. We have been proven right today.

He tried to prosecute Governor Timipre Sylva for the EFCC, but he was unsuccessful. He lost as the EFCC’s representative in the fight with Femi Fani-Kayode.
