Biafra I Believe In— Governor Mbah

The Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah has said that he believes in Economic Biafra which will see to the economic emancipation of Igbo nation.

Speaking at the ongoing one-day retreat of Ohanaeze Ndígbo in Enugu, governor Mbah said the war is over and as such Ndígbo should be more concerned about how to transform the fortunes of the people.

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, added that the removal of train from the exclusive list by the former President, Muhammadu Buhari, has created a huge task for the economic committee of Ohanaeze Ndígbo.

Barr. Ossai said the committee should look into creating a common market and economic integration of the region and the railway system comes handy in achieving this.

He said Igbos should be interested in making the dry ports work and how to explore our access to the ocean which he disclosed, has a shorter distance than what they have in Dubai.

Speaking on the theme of the retreat “Ako bu ije” the deputy governor stressed that “we must think home and the best way to do that is making here viable. We must unleash the person in us and do away with the mentality that anyone is holding us down.

“If the Jews can do it, we have more potentials to do it better with the enormous natural resources at our disposal which can be used to develop this region.”

Conclusively, Ossia thanked the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndígbo for the thankless job they’re doing for Igbo nation, adding that they need the support of all as the prominent flagship Igbo group that unites all.
