On Tuesday night, suspected bandits carried out a deadly attack, resulting in the tragic death of Babangida Abubakar Sadeeq, a former general manager of Jigawa State Housing Authority, along with two other individuals.
According to a resident, the incident occurred on Yalwandamai road as the ex-government official was traveling from his farm in Dutse to his hometown of Birnin Kudu.
The source recounted the events, stating, “Late Babangida was returning from Dutse when he stopped by a village near Yalwandamai to check on his farm workers. Shortly after leaving the farm, they noticed suspicious individuals approaching their vehicle.”
“As they attempted to illuminate the area, the assailants opened fire on their vehicle,” the source added.
Tragically, Babangida and the others were fatally wounded in the attack and were rushed to the Federal Medical Center Birnin Kudu, where they were pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu, assured that efforts were underway to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
