Following former Anambra state governor and Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Gregory Obi’s congratulations to all Muslims on the start of the Ramadan fast, one of the members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bashir Ahmad, replied.

On Monday, March 11, 2024, Peter Obi responded to the announcement made by the Sultan of Sokoto regarding the start of the Ramadan fast.

Peter Obi asked all Muslims to seize the occasion to engage in charitable endeavors and prayer in a message he shared on his official X feed.

The former governor of Anambra state wrote on his page;

“To all my brothers and sisters in Islam by the declaration of His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, today Monday, March 11, 2024, marks the beginning of the Ramadan fast in Nigeria and around the world as also announced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after sighting of the lunar month of Ramadan. These two announcements have paved the way for the beginning of the Islamic holy period of fasting, prayer and charity work”.

However, Bashir Ahmad has now reacted after Peter Obi shared his thoughts. In a post that the APC member shared on his page, he appreciated Peter Obi.

He said;

“Thank you, sir”.
