BREAKING: Drama As Amaechi, Fubara meet, shake hands During Wigwes’ funeral

Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, former Governor of Rivers State and former Minister of Transportation and Governor Siminalayi Fubara were for the first time today, Saturday March 9, seen in public exchanging pleasantries at funeral service for the late Herbert Wigwes at Isiokpo,Rivers State.

The venue of meeting of the incumbent Fubara and former Governor Amaechi is at ongoing final funeral service for the late CEO of Access Bank Herbert Wigwe, his son and wife at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo.

Amaechi and Governor Fubara exchanged pleasantries and shook hands as they met at the funeral ceremony to the admiration of onlookers, especially their political loyalists.

Recall just after the February and March general elections of 2023, Amaechi, (who was called to Bar a two days ago as a lawyer), had stayed off politics and refused to be entangled in the political fights between Fubara and his immediate predecessor, Nyesom Wike who is now the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

He had also also refused to be entangled in the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Peoples Democratic Party PDP brawls in Rivers State.

It was therefore a pleasant surprise to see Amaechi and Fubara exchanging handshakes publicly.

It is significant to know the Amaechi is an Ikwerre from Ubima in Ikwerre local government Council Area, while Fubara is Ibani(Ijaw) from Opobo in Opobo Nkoro local government area of Rivers State.
