BREAKING: If You Say The Truth You Die, If You Lie, You Die- Lawmaker For Wike’s

Lawmaker Hon Akor Prince Nna, representing the ward of former Governor Nyesom Wike in Obio/Akpor Local Government in the Rivers State House of Assembly, has tendered his resignation, aligning himself with Governor Siminalayi Fubara amid the state’s ongoing power struggle.

In a letter dated March 6 addressed to the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Legislative Council, Rumu Odomaya, Rivers State, Nna announced his decision to step down from his position as Leader of the House in the Legislative Council.

In the letter, Nna expressed gratitude to the leadership and constituents of Ward 9 and Obio/Akpor Local Government for the opportunity to serve. He also thanked former Governor Wike for the chance to represent him as a councilor in his ward and later as the Leader of the Legislative Council.

Nna’s letter stated, “Having said this, Mr. Chairman, may I most respectfully inform you that I have resigned my position as the Leader of Obio/Akpor Legislative Council and as a councilor representing the good people of Ward 9.”

Explaining his resignation, Nna cited his personal conviction to align with the truth amidst the current political landscape in Rivers State, along with what he described as intimidation, marginalization, coercion, bullying, and arm-twisting from some leaders of Obio/Akpor Local Government.

Nna referenced a quote by Senator Dino Melaye, saying, “‘If you speak the truth, you die. If you lie, you die. Better to speak the truth and die.’”

He further stated, “My Chairman, I want to align with the progressive minds to liberate and develop Rivers State in tune with the SIMplified Movement.”

Nna assured his commitment to supporting the state government in realizing the aspirations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s RENEWED HOPE agenda while fostering peace, development, and empowerment for the people of Rivers State.

He concluded, “Once again, I remain grateful to the leadership and people of Ward 9. God bless the good people of Ward 9, God bless the good people of Obio/Akpor, and God bless our dear Party, the Peoples Democratic Party.”
