BREAKING: Lagos Announces Fresh 36-Hour Diversion On 3rd Mainland Bridge

In response to the ongoing rehabilitation of the Third Mainland Bridge by the Federal Ministry of Works, the Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion affecting the Island-Iyana Oworo Bound Carriageway.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Island-Iyana Oworo bound lane will be inaccessible to vehicular traffic from midnight on Wednesday, March 6th, until noon on Thursday, March 7th, 2024.

During this period, motorists are advised to utilize alternative routes previously designated for diversion. However, the Iyana-Oworo inwards Island bound carriageway will remain open to vehicles heading to the Island.

Upon the completion of the 36-hour closure, the initial traffic diversion arrangements on the bridge will be reinstated.

The commissioner expressed gratitude to Lagos residents for their enduring patience and urged continued cooperation with deployed traffic management officials to mitigate inconvenience during the closure.
