BREAKING: Tribunal Reviews BVAS Machines, Admits Evidence for Five LGAs

The Kogi State Governorship election petition tribunal, currently convened in Abuja, has made significant progress in the ongoing review of the November 11, 2023, gubernatorial election.

The tribunal has officially accepted the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines used during the election and has conducted a demonstration of its contents for specific Local Government Areas (LGAs), including Okene, Ajaokuta, Adavi, Okehi, and Lokoja.

These machines and their demonstrated content have been duly tendered, admitted as evidence, and marked as exhibit by the tribunal.

This development is a crucial step in the tribunal’s examination of the election processes and outcomes, aiming to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process.

The acceptance and review of the BVAS machines’ content are expected to play a significant role in addressing any disputes or concerns regarding the election’s integrity in the mentioned LGAs.

The case has been adjourned until March 12, 2024, when the tribunal will reconvene for the continuation of the hearing. This adjournment allows for further preparations and review of evidence by all parties involved, setting the stage for a comprehensive examination of the electoral processes and the eventual resolution of the petition.
