Governor Yusuf pledges to ensure execution of more capital projects in Kano

Governor Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has renewed his administration’s determination to execute more development projects and programmes to improve the populace’s lives.

Mr Yusuf spoke to journalists shortly before the seventh State Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Kano.

The governor said many people-oriented policies and programmes that would enhance the well-being of the governed would be implemented.

He explained that within his short tenure in office, the state government has successfully launched the distribution of palliatives comprising rice and maize across the 484 wards in the state.

Mr Yusuf further revealed that the government also flagged off the distribution of teaching and learning materials, uniforms and school bags/sandals, in addition to the airlifting of the first batch of students sponsored by the government for foreign scholarship at MAKIA.

“The second batch for the airlift of the students going to India would continue on Friday while those going to Uganda would be airlifted on Sunday,” the governor said.

He said the government has successfully launched the marriage of 1,800 couples titled (Auren Gata) with a donation of complete sets of room furniture, foodstuff, financial support and other items to support them.

Mr Yusuf thanked journalists and the state’s people for their continued support and prayers.
