Isaac Fayose Alleges Five APC Governors Are Secretly Backing NDC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Popular businessman, Isaac Fayose, has alleged that five governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are secretly supporting the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Naija News reports that Fayose made the allegation in a post shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.

According to Fayose, the governors would not publicly campaign for the NDC or make statements in support of the party because they remain members of the APC.

However, he claimed that the governors had pledged to financially support the NDC’s election campaign while keeping their identities confidential.

Why the Alleged APC Governors Are Supporting the NDC

Fayose stated that the governors’ alleged support was linked to concerns about the outcome of the 2027 elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Rivers State.

He claimed that the governors did not want Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, to secure electoral victories for the APC in either location.

Fayose said:

“We now have five APC governors supporting the NDC in this election. They are not going to come out to campaign for us. They are not going to say anything in public that will favour us, but underneath, they promised us to sponsor this election, and their request is very simple.”

He added that the alleged supporters were concerned about the APC’s prospects in Abuja and Rivers State.

“The request is, they don’t want Wike to win FCT for APC; they don’t want Wike to win Rivers State for APC.”

Fayose Alleges N200,000 Support for Polling Agents

The businessman further alleged that the governors had offered to provide financial support to polling agents in Rivers State and the FCT as part of efforts to prevent alleged electoral irregularities.

According to Fayose, the proposed support would amount to ₦200,000 per polling unit for polling agents who could work together to resist election rigging.

He said:

“So they are offering all our polling agents in Rivers and FCT two hundred thousand per polling unit; if you can stand together against rigging, they are willing to give you two hundred thousand naira each.”

Fayose also claimed that the governors wanted to keep their identities hidden because of their membership in the APC.

“They don’t want their names to be in public because they are members of the APC.”

No Independent Confirmation of the Allegation

Fayose’s claim about the alleged support of five APC governors for the NDC has not been independently substantiated in the information provided. The identities of the governors were not disclosed, and no response from the APC, the alleged governors, or other parties mentioned was included in the report.

The allegations come ahead of the 2027 general elections, as political parties and stakeholders prepare for the electoral contest.

Note for publication: The allegations should remain attributed to Isaac Fayose unless independently verified. The identities of the alleged governors, the claimed financial arrangement, and any assertions about electoral manipulation require supporting evidence before being presented as established facts.
