The Bauchi State Council of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the continued detention of its National Leader, Bello Bodejo, urging the Federal Government to ensure his release or uphold due process if there are legal grounds for keeping him in custody.
The appeal was made by the association’s Bauchi State Chairman, Sale Garbu, during a press conference in Bauchi on Saturday. Garbu expressed concern over what he described as Bodejo’s prolonged detention without being brought before a court of law.
According to the chairman, the situation has raised concerns among members of the organisation, prompting calls for presidential intervention to resolve the matter.
“We are appealing to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the continued detention of our National Leader, Bello Bodejo,” Garbu said.
“We call on the President to use his good office to facilitate his release or ensure that due process is followed if there are legal grounds for his continued detention.”
Miyetti Allah Seeks Tinubu’s Intervention in Bodejo’s Detention
Garbu maintained that Bodejo had contributed to promoting peace and security in Nigeria, particularly through efforts to address challenges affecting communities.
He appealed to Tinubu to intervene and ensure that the matter was addressed in accordance with the law, stressing the need for a peaceful resolution.
The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore chairman also called on Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed to support efforts aimed at securing Bodejo’s release in good health.
The association’s appeal comes amid its concerns over the circumstances surrounding its national leader’s continued detention and calls for relevant authorities to address the situation.
Miyetti Allah Takes Political Position Over National Leader’s Detention
In a significant political declaration, Garbu disclosed that Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore would not support any candidate of any political party until Bodejo was released.
He explained that the decision reflected the organisation’s concern over the continued detention of its leader and its determination to see the matter resolved.
The position signals the association’s intention to withhold its political support pending a resolution of the issue.
Association Appeals to Traditional Rulers, Stakeholders
Earlier, the State Secretary of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Sulaiman Shehu, appealed to traditional rulers across Nigeria to intervene in the matter.
Shehu urged traditional institutions to use their influence to engage relevant authorities and contribute to finding a peaceful and lawful resolution.
The association also called on government officials, community leaders and other stakeholders to give the matter urgent attention in the interest of peace, justice and the wellbeing of Bodejo’s family.
Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore reiterated its appeal for intervention, urging relevant authorities and community leaders to support efforts to resolve the situation through lawful means.
