Olumide Akpata may be a great personality but where is the structure to carry him to victory

Senator Dayo Adeyeye, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress and a former minister of works, has expressed skepticism on the viability of Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party’s candidate for governor of Edo State, in the election scheduled for September 21. Despite Akpata’s strong personality, Mr. Adeyeye stated he is not certain the Labour Party has solid structures in Edo State that will aid in his election victory.

Speaking on Political Paradigm, a programme on Channels TV, he said,

“The Labour Party candidate has great pedigree, former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, a likeable person, great character and all that. But has Labour Party been able to establish very firm structures across all the wards, all the polling units, all the nooks and crannies of the state? I doubt it. So he may be a great personality, but where is the structures to carry him to victory? That may be absent. But we will see.”
