Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, took a swipe at Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State for his assertion of not accepting a salary since assuming office.
Sani expressed incredulity at how Soludo and his family sustain themselves without any salary for nearly two years.
In a post on X platform, Soludo stated, “I read that Soludo and wife have not received any salary for two years. Only God knows how they are managing their lives.”
Soludo had justified his decision to decline a salary from the state government as a measure to curtail expenses. Speaking at an interdenominational service at the International Convention Center in Awka, the Anambra State capital, marking his two years in office, the governor emphasized his administration’s efforts in cost-saving measures.
He highlighted initiatives undertaken to stem financial leakages in government operations, reduce overall expenditures, and achieve substantial outcomes with limited resources.
Furthermore, Soludo revealed that his wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, abstains from using official vehicles, opting instead to utilize their personal vehicles.
These developments underscore Soludo’s commitment to fiscal prudence and responsible governance in Anambra State.
