Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has criticized former governor Peter Obi, accusing him of failing to deliver meaningful benefits to the Igbo people since venturing into politics.
Soludo alleged that Obi only appeals to the emotions of Igbos during election seasons, urging voters to reject what he described as a repeated pattern in the 2027 elections.
The governor made the remarks while speaking in the Igbo language at a public event, where he called on the people of the Southeast to actively participate in political struggles and secure their share of national opportunities.
According to a report by Naija News, Soludo questioned what Obi had achieved for the Igbo people throughout his political career, particularly regarding the longstanding erosion challenges in Ekwusigo.
“Ask him, since he has been in politics, what has he brought for the Igbos?” Soludo said, challenging Obi’s record and stating that the 2027 elections would be different.
Soludo Urges Igbos To Vote Strategically In 2027
Governor Soludo emphasized the importance of political participation, encouraging Igbos to vote in a way that would enable them to benefit from federal government opportunities.
He argued that the Southeast must be involved in the political process rather than remaining on the sidelines while other groups pursue their interests.
“We Igbos will get our own share this time around by voting right. And we will be part of the fight, the struggle so that we can take our share,” he stated.
Soludo also used a hunting analogy to criticize those who, in his account, condemn others for benefiting from political opportunities after failing to secure similar gains themselves.
Anambra Will Support ‘Things Done From Above’ — Soludo
The governor further declared that Anambra belongs to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and suggested that the state should align with the ruling political structure to secure its share of federal resources and opportunities.
Soludo argued that political engagement with those in power is necessary for the Southeast to participate in decisions made at the federal level.
He said:
“You have to join them in the hunt so you can partake in the sharing, that’s where APGA stands. Igboland shall be better, Anambra must get their share.”
The governor also stated that the time had come to remove individuals he believes are obstructing the progress of the Igbo people.

Reiterating his position, Soludo said the 2027 elections would represent a change in how Igbos approach political participation and decision-making.
