BREAKING: For The First Time, You Saw A Candidate, Kwankwaso, Who Kept His Desire To Be President Aside-Kurugu

Mansur Umar Kurugu, the second spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, has praised Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for putting Nigeria’s interest ahead of his personal ambition to become president.

Kurugu made this statement during an interview on the PAP Show, where he discussed the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential ticket involving Peter Obi and Kwankwaso.

He said Kwankwaso had shown a willingness to sacrifice his presidential ambition by accepting that the presidency should go to the South in the next election. According to him, Kwankwaso contested for president in 2023 but was willing to step aside and support Obi because of his background and experience.

Kurugu described the decision as a major sacrifice, adding that it showed Kwankwaso understood how governance and politics worked.

He also said the decision had allowed both politicians to work together and strengthen their political partnership ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Kurugu further claimed that the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket had attracted support from Nigerians because of its appeal beyond financial influence. He described the partnership as one that could attract people through its popularity and public acceptance, rather than money alone.

In his words, “For the first time, you have seen a candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who kept his own desire to be president aside and prioritized Nigeria.”
